Monte BarryOccupy Fort Collins March to Wells Fargo Bank (October 15, 2011)

On 10 Oct 2011, Occupy Fort Collins began its protest movement at the NW corner of College and Maple streets. 15 Oct 2011 marked the Global Day of Action. Many Occupy Wall Street protests were held around the world on this Global Day of Rage. Peaceful Occupy Fort Collins protesters marched downtown to the Wells Fargo Bank today to express their anger over Wall Street's greed. We are the 99 percent that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1 percent.

This one-minute video clip captures a rogue Matheson truck driver gassing peaceful protesters with poisonous diesel exhaust fumes. Matheson is a large truck carrier. Matheson is the contractor for the main U.S. Post Office in downtown Fort Collins. This U.S. Post Office is around the corner from the Wells Fargo Bank location shown in our video. These Matheson truck drivers work this Fort Collins USPS delivery route many times per day. They never dump diesel exhaust fumes on pedestrians in downtown Fort Collins.

This Matheson truck driver is gassing these OWS protesters on purpose. Why would a Matheson truck driver, who appears to be working for the USPS, want to cause harm and injury to women and children in Fort Collins? We 'filmed it' on a video camera.

Wells Fargo is the largest bank in Colorado

• 29 Sep 2011 - Bank of America announced plans to charge millions of customers $5 a month if they use their debit cards to make purchases. Bank of America got pummeled by consumers and politicians for introducing its plans for new debit-card fees. Most other big U.S. banks are steering clear of imposing similar charges.

Wells Fargo is testing a $3 monthly debit-card fee in five states!

The debit-card fees stem from a provision in last year's Dodd-Frank financial-overhaul law that reduced by roughly half the amount that banks are permitted to charge merchants for debit-card transactions. Merchants had long complained that they were being charged too much to accept debit cards, which are typically used instead of cash and checks.

Banks are expected to lose more than $6 billion in annual revenue as a result of the new rules, according to industry estimates.

The debit-card fees have sparked an outcry among politicians — including members of Congress and President Obama — as well as customers, who have threatened to close their bank accounts and move to other institutions.

Community banks and credit unions are tapping into that fury by encouraging consumers to move to small institutions that don't charge such fees. Bethpage Federal Credit Union in New York, for example, said this week it signed up 1,500 customers — twice its normal rate — since Bank of America's plans became public.

In a statement, Wells Fargo said, "We regularly review our pricing and take into account the needs of our customers, industry trends, the market competition and our cost of doing business."

• 17 Oct 2011 - Wells Fargo reports Q3 earnings rose 21%. That works out to be 114% Annual Profit!

• 25 Oct 2011 - 300 Colorado Homeowners Close Their Accounts at Wells Fargo!

• 06 Nov 2011 - Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan Chase CANCEL New monthly Debit Card Fees!

Wells Fargo rolls out more $7 checking accounts

By Blake Ellis | CNNMoney.com | March 8, 2012

Wells Fargo will start charging $7 a month for checking accounts in six more states, expanding on its efforts to do away with free checking accounts altogether.

While Wells Fargo stopped offering free checking accounts to new customers in 2010, existing customers were able to hold onto their free accounts. But then last year, the bank transitioned a group of existing customers -- mainly in Western states -- to the same $7-a-month accounts that it provides new customers. And now existing customers in six more states are about to be hit with the fee.

The $7 monthly service fee will be assessed on the bank's Essential Checking account. Customers can waive the fee by maintaining a $1,500 minimum daily balance or making direct deposits of $500 or more each month. They can also get a $2 discount on the fee by opting to only receive online statements.

The bank, which has branches in 39 states and Washington D.C., declined to comment on whether this will mark the end of its rollout. It also wouldn't disclose which states would be affected by the new fee. However, CNNMoney received a Wells Fargo statement for a banking customer in New York that stated a new $7 fee would be applied to their account.

The new monthly fee will be effective May 4 in the six states, and will begin showing up on June statements (if the requirements for getting the charge waived aren't met), the bank said.

Subject: Big Banks drop new Debit-Card fees - OWS wins!
Did you notice what happened, in the context of the new Bank Fees? Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan Chase CANCELLED their new monthly Debit Card Fees!

Five Stars get awarded to the OWS Movement for winning this battle with The Big Banks!

Open-minded individuals might be interested to know that Noise Collector is an outspoken member of a right-wing political movement, and I respect that. But he's actually flagging my item in his 'review' below.

Some people who 'flag items' (such as reviewing my item with 'no rating' given) do so without citing any 'probable cause'. In my mind, this is a case of 'shooting the messenger'. I take it as a badge of honor.

Thank You to all the people who are responsible for preventing the big banks from adding these new monthly debit card fees. This is a HUGE VICTORY for the 99 per cent!
